“I am always looking for an opportunity to serve the community, as well as to preserve the community for my kids so they want to come back and raise their families here,” said Hattaway.

Robyn is a Presbyterian pastor’s daughter has lived throughout the country in many towns in many states  She knows from experience just how unique Central Florida is. Her roots are now firmly planted on the Space Coast and they run deep, with family across Titusville to Cocoa Beach and Indian Harbour Beach.

Hattaway is adamant about preserving the community’s quality of life and she sees both the industries and environment as the area’s greatest assets.

Robyn has harnessed this passion as an elected Commissioner at the Canaveral Port Authority since 2018.  She has served as Vice Chairman (2019) and Secretary/Treasurer (2021 and 2022).  As a port commissioner Robyn has fought for accountability to public dollars and fiscal conservative policy.  She challenges the status quo regularly.  She has also worked together with the local Brevard County School Board to found an Junior Port Ambassador Program, connecting area high school students to career paths at the Port.

Robyn believes that if you can do something to improve your community, that it is your responsibility to get involved. Robyn’s commitment to this belief is evident in her profession as an attorney working with small businesses, her dedication to serve in nonprofit organizations, and her volunteer work at her children’s schools. Robyn has volunteered with LEAD Brevard, Health First Foundation, Family Promise of Brevard, Brevard Public Schools, Literacy for Adults in Brevard,  and the Central Florida Sharing Center.

As an attorney Robyn Hattaway focuses on Business Litigation and Transactions.   She began her career in litigation representing large publicly held corporations in complex business disputes. She has experience in both federal and state courts. Her practice includes civil litigation, real property litigation, franchise transactions and development, as well as business litigation. 

Hattaway attended the University of Texas, thanks to a full scholarship, before heading to Emory University School of Law in Atlanta to receive her juris doctor degree

Family & Personal Life

Family brought Robyn to Florida and is why she wants to keep Florida Great!


Robyn and her husband, Dr. Aaron Hattaway, are the parents of Willson, a freshman in college and Davis, a junior in high school. Whiskey River is the family’s rescued Springer/Labrador mix, named for Robyn’s love of Willie Nelson and all country music.

The Hattaway family has strong ties to central Florida with several generations calling Brevard home.
